What a GREAT Spinning Combo...
I purchased the one piece 7' Combo, I added 12LB Test to it. I have to say this combo is AWESOME! I own a 6' 6" Shakespeare Pro-Am combo that I've had for 23 years. The first time I used the Pflueger, it was like going from an old beat up (but dependable) jalopy, to a Ferrari! It works as beautiful as it looks. With a gear ratio of 5.2:1, just makes this reel so smooth and A LOT faster than I expected. I mainly purchased this combo for lure fishing off a pier, but I can easily see that this one could become my primary combo. Plueger is a GREAT company that's been around since 1881! Not too many companies can say that, and being around that long, THEY KNOW HOW TO CREATE A GREAT PRODUCT! Can't wait to go fishing again!
Buttery Smooth
This is easily the best rod/reel I have owned. The rod is nice and sensitive, and the reel doesn't even compare to anything I've used.
You may want to note that this is a 1 piece rod. I didn't notice that point in the description, and it may be relevant if you plan on putting it in your trunk.
I have fished my entire life off of "walmart" poles, so my level of comparison may be bad. However, I never would have guessed a reel could be this smooth.
Very Nice Rod/Reel Combo
Very smooth action on the reel. Good looking and good functioning combo. Would buy again. One piece rod, came undamaged in a very tall box. Threw a few casts with it and all seemed to be in order. Hope to land lots of fish with this combo...
