I have both Premiers, Avids and now the Rages. Some people are concerned about guides used on Rage rods but I just want to give it a try partialy because I just love the neoprene handles and this particular rod fits my purpose best after I have tried many medium light action rods from other makes. I did not buy this particular rod from Amazon, though I bought 4 Avids from Amazon, but got it for free from St Croix as Christmas Promotion (get a Rage rod for free when you buy any two St Croix rods including Triumph rods at least $230 and plus $19.95 S&H. Limit to two per address. This means you can buy 4 rods at least $460 plus $39.90 S&H and get 2 Rage rods of your choice for free). Paired with a Shimano Stradic 1000FI, put 4 lb mono and it's a killer set for finesse fishing or deep gigging for crappie. It's wonderfully light at 4 Oz, though not as light as Avid (AVS69MLXF which I also have and bought it from Amazon) at 3.7 Oz but feels amazingly light probably due to its perfect...
