Great Chest Pack/Back Pack System
Needed to replace an old chest pack and decided on the Double Haul by Fishpond. This pack is well made and appears to have been well thought out.
The Chest Pack portion is just about the right size. It is comprised of 2 pockets. One larger pocket in the back which can be used to hold a couple of regular fly boxes. I switched to the ultra thin fly boxes and can fit 4 of them (each holding 128 wet/nymph/small dry flies if necessary) and a medium compartment fly box for my dries. This pocket also has a zippered internal pocket where I keep my leaders, streamside insect ID cards and indicators. The front pocket has a removable fly patch which can hold about 70 flies or so. I've used the front pocket with the removable fly patch for something of a "confidence box" (flies I think I'll use for the day) as well as to dry flies that I've switched out.
