MinnKota Riptide 70 SP Bowmount Trolling Motor with CoPilot (70-lb Thrust, 54" Shaft)


AWESOME!!!!
Bought this to replace a 55# thrust 12v freshwater trolling motor on my bass tracker. I use this digital motor at about 1/2 power and last 3x longer than the previous motorguide. ... and it pulls my 18' 6" tracker boat with ease and is extremely quiet.
Not Wired With Right Connector On Negative Side
The 6 AWG positive and negative wires on my Minn Kota Riptide SP 70 trolling motor came with connectors with 1/8 inch holes. That's okay for the positive wire which Minn Kota recommends putting a 50 amp manual circuit inline with the positive connection to the battery. You will need a 5/16 to 3/8 inch connector and a 1/8 in. connector and a second 4-6 AWG cable,to go over the 1/4 in. terminal on the marine battery, and the side going back to the circuit breaker with this second cable will need a 1/8 in. connector. So you need two different size connectors and a second cable to connect your motor from the circuit breaker to the positive terminal of your marine battery,and an additional 3/8 in. connector to go on the negative wire on the motor. It would be a lot easier if the Riptide came with the right size connectors and a second positive cable with the right size connectors to connect from the circuit breaker and the 1/4 in.top post on the marine battery.
