Love it
This is season two for me and my kayaks. I bought mine on clearance at Dick's and brought an experienced kayaker with me who can guide me and speak to the salesman. This boat has ridges in the bottom which you need for effective tracking. It has plenty of room for carrying a beach bag and small cooler. I actually dropped in the bay and paddled over to my favorite beach. It works very well in an ocean inlet or marina area and very good on lakes. I don't know how it would be on white water and probably won't find out either. It's a durable and light weight boat that easily fits your every day needs. Although I have the J hooks to carry them, but also can slide them into my Grand Cherokee and strap it in quickly and easily. I'm a little female and sliding it/them into the truck is much easier for me. I like it and I highly recommend it. If you prefer open ocean kayaking, I suggest you get a sea kayak with a rudder. This one is great for light to medium waves and currents...
Stable and maneuverable
This is my first kayak. I have tried it in my swimming pool and in a calm lake down the road. I love it, love it, love it! I was concerned about being able to maneuver it and balance without flipping it. This kayak is wide and flat and floats down in the water in a way that you feel like you can turn, stop and go without any danger. Great beginners boat.
It is quite a bit lighter and thinner than the Old Town brand my wife bought, but still sturdy enough. One disappointment is that the bulk head is not completely sealed, so is not really a dry storage space or an air pocket to keep it afloat should it flip.
It is easy to load in the car rack and it has a drain plug right at the tail end, making it super easy to drain and store after use.
No warranty support
Have emailed several times about broken plastic pieces. Future Beach will not respond. Will not deal with them again. Most of the clips were discovered to be broken after receiving the kayak.
